The UMass EndoSurgery Center is offering a two-day workshop on Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery. This workshop is designed to provide general surgeons, with a keen interest in bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery, an introduction to or update on this new advanced laparoscopic surgical technique. The didactic sessions will provide the participants with lectures by recognized national and international experts in this technique as well as the opportunity to view live surgery from the venue of the EndoSurgery Conference Room and interact with the operating surgeon during the surgery when possible. The lab session will provide hands-on experience in a variety of bariatric techniques on suitable models with faculty instruction.
The UMass EndoSurgery Center Conference Room is equipped with state-of-the-art telemedia capabilities to include fiberoptic transmission, satellite up-link and downlink, and digital audio-visual conferencing. These advanced telecommunication capabilities permit participation in surgery conferences nationally and internationally.
